The authentic savoyard village of Arâches is less well known than some of the neighbouring villages yet it is popular with walkers returning from the tour of La Pierre à Laya 1km away and also because of it’s concentration of historic buildings. There are numerous savoyard farmhouses, mostly renovated by the local inhabitants who have created a lively and friendly environment. It is not uncommon to find them on sunny days, at the edge of the stone water trough socialising over an aperitif !
Maison Querioz is part of this architectural setting. The house, which originally only had a cellar with 2 floors above (the latter renovated in 2012), has recently gained living space, thanks to the complete renovation of the attic in 2019.

Large vaulted cave/cellar situated slightly below the small courtyard. With sufficient ceiling height and electricity installed, this space could be used as a workshop.

It is a 3 minute drive to the centre of Les Carroz and, for the more energetic it is possible to walk to Les Carroz along the walking track situated just below the property. This also gives access to the Pierre à Laya stone (a local legend) as well as a beautiful viewpoint towards the Pointe d’Areu and the Aravis mountains. The centre of Arâches is also served by a free bus in the winter season, giving access to the ski lift.
