Location
The village lies at 650m on an east-facing hillside for morning sun. To the south are good views of the Pyrenees. The valley is a popular destination for walking, cycling, skiing and mountain views. There are two ski resorts in the valley: Gourette at 45 minutes and Artouste at 50 minutes. The border to Spain lies on the Col du Portalet at 60 minutes; just over the border is the extensive Spanish ski resort of Formigal - Panticosa. There are good mountain walks directly from the house. The village lies on the climb for the 'Tour de France' Col de Marie-Blanque. Local shops are in Arudy and Laruns at 15 minutes. The city of Pau has all amenities, shops, museums, music and exhibitions at 40 minutes.
Access
From the A64 at Pau, the village lies in the Ossau Valley about 40 minutes south.
Pau has a main SNCF TGV train station and a regional airport with daily flights to Paris.
The A64 motorway provides good access to Bayonne, Bordeaux and Toulouse.
The Ossau Valley is connected to Pau by bus (Bielle) and train (Buzy) services.
